Life Update - September 2024

The post was originally posted on my Substack - What's meant for you.. on 6th October 2024.
Welcome to my first monthly recap of my life.
- I’ve started a blog again. This would be my fourth or fifth attempt, but I’m hopeful and just can’t get blogging out of my head.
- Work - Community pharmacy. Last month, my main focus was on the day-to-day running of my girlfriend’s family small pharmacy chain. Together we organised flu clinics, had some paperwork to do for the regulations, and put out some small fires. Otherwise my focus has been on what daily practices and techniques I can use to cultivate a work culture of excellence. H/T the Culture Code and Unreasonable Hospitality.
- Setting up financial systems. It’s been a few months since we are back from travelling and we are back in the swing of earning and spending. We’ve been figuring out our finances - mostly trying to save as much as possible. I’ve also been developing our/my money rules (more on that soon). Big up Ramit Sethi
Weddings. It’s been the summer of weddings (7 in total) and we’ve had two this month, both my friends from uni. Each one was so much fun, it’s always so great to see the gang again and catch up.

Places I’ve visited

Things I'm enjoying
- Slow Horses on Apple TV. Amazing
- Nick Gray - on My First Million and his blog (inspired my latest blog revival)
- Tim Ferriss is back podcasting after his big break.
- Foundations - why Britain has stagnated.
- TED - A bold plan to rewild the Earth — at massive scale
Being in nature. One of the biggest things I learned working a therapist is the benefit of long walks in nature - they nourish my soul. I got some great walks in Sutton Park as well as Cannock chase, looking forward to more before the weather changes.

P.S. Rings of Power on Prime - while not the best and is getting a lot of shit online, I’m still grateful to have more Tolkien lore to watch. Pairs well with Nerd of the Rings on Youtube.
